Octoberville

A haunted small town

Octoberville started in 2005 as one haunted house and a scavenger hunt built inside Second Life for the month of October. Every year after, Pixeltrix added more: a runaway train, a full mystery to solve, a dance club, a drive-in playing horror movies all night. Twenty years and thousands of players later, that same haunted town is being rebuilt for Steam.

Coming to Steam

Professor Dalton's house is still standing.

Octoberville was a highly respected researcher's town before it was anything else. Professor Dalton's final experiment used his own family as test subjects, and when it went wrong, he locked himself away with what was left of them. No one has seen him since. No one knows if he's still in the house.

Every October, the town opens its gates anyway: puzzles, farming, hunting, sleuthing, fighting, quests, a maze, and a haunted mansion tour, all built around one story. It's brought thousands of players back year after year since 2005.

What's next

Octoberville is being rebuilt as a standalone game on Steam: the same mix of puzzles, farming, hunting, sleuthing, fighting, and questing, the same mansion, without a Second Life account required to play it. Details on release plans are coming.

The old Wall of Fame isn't going anywhere either. 717 different players finished a season across 10 seasons from 2005 to 2018, and every one of them is still on record.
